How do I clear the cache for Chrome, Safari, and Firefox?

If the browser is frozen, Force Quit the application with the following key command:
Command Option Escape

Clear the browser cache using the process below:

Chrome

1. Open Chrome
2. From the Menubar click on the word Chrome
3. Choose Clear Browsing Data
4. In the clear browsing data window that opens, change the dropdown for Time Range: to All Time.
5. Select the checkboxes:Cookies and other site and plugin data and Cached images and files. You can select other items as desired.
6. Click on the Clear browsing data button.
7. Quit Chrome and re-launch.

Firefox

1. To clear the cache, launch Firefox. In the Menu Bar, click on Firefox -> Preferences.
2. Click on the Advanced tab. (The tab may be along the top of the Preferences window, or in a sidebar along the left side.)
3. Click on the Network tab.
4. In the Cached Web Content section, click on the Clear Now button.
5. Quit Firefox and re-launch.

How to set Firefox to automatically clear the cache when you quit.  See KB Article 714

1. On the menu bar choose Firefox > Preferences
2. Select Privacy
3.  In the History section, set Firefox will to use custom settings for history.
4. Select the check box for Clear history when Firefox closes.
5. Select the Clear history when Firefox closes, Click the Settings button. The settings for Clearing History window will open. In the Settings for Clearing History window, put  check mark next to Cache.

Safari

There are two methods to clear the cache in Safari, depending on which OS version in on the computer.

If the computer OS  is older than version 10.11 (El Capitan):

1. To clear the cache, launch Safari. In the Menu Bar at the top of the screen, click on Safari -> Reset Safari.
2. In the Reset Safari window, place a checkmark in all boxes.
3. Click the Reset button.
4. Quit Safari and re-launch.

If the computer  OS  is at least version 10.11 (El Capitan) or newer:

1. To clear the cache, launch Safari.
2. Select Safari -> Preferences from the menubar.
3. Click on the Advanced tab.
4. At the bottom of the screen, check the checkbox next to Show Develop menu in menu bar.
5. Close the Safari Preferences window.
6. Click onDeveloper and thenEmpty Caches from the drop down menu.
